Sleep related movement disorders (SRMDs) are a group of relatively simple, stereotyped or monophasic movement disorders that disturb sleep. A complaint of disturbed sleep, and daytime sleepiness or fatigue is a prerequisite for the diagnosis as opposed to a mere accidental finding during a nocturnal polysomnography (PSG). The diagnostic process in the case of suspected SRMD follows a general algorithm whereby the clinician seeks out specific information. The history may be usually telling, especially for restless legs syndrome; however PSG may be necessary to make a firm diagnosis of SRMDs.

Abstract
Sleep related movement disorders (SRMDs) are a group of relatively simple, stereotyped or monophasic movement disorders that disturb sleep. A complaint of disturbed sleep, and daytime sleepiness or fatigue is a prerequisite for the diagnosis as opposed to a mere accidental finding during a nocturnal polysomnography (PSG). The diagnostic process in the case of suspected SRMD follows a general algorithm whereby the clinician seeks out specific information. The history may be usually telling, especially for restless legs syndrome; however PSG may be necessary to make a firm diagnosis of SRMDs.File in questo prodotto:
