This paper elaborates on the relevance of Arendt’s idea of the world and the dangers of its capitalistic consumption. The world is the cornerstone of human identity. It is also the condition of possibility for political action. This deep bond between worldliness and plurality enlightens the threat of the world’s destruction due to the gargantuan economic growth: capitalism produces animales laborantes by merging work and labor that consumes the world. A phenomenological inquiry into the notion of culture shows the pathway for carefully loving the world and for respecting the different temporalities of human activities.

Abstract
This paper elaborates on the relevance of Arendt’s idea of the world and the dangers of its capitalistic consumption. The world is the cornerstone of human identity. It is also the condition of possibility for political action. This deep bond between worldliness and plurality enlightens the threat of the world’s destruction due to the gargantuan economic growth: capitalism produces animales laborantes by merging work and labor that consumes the world. A phenomenological inquiry into the notion of culture shows the pathway for carefully loving the world and for respecting the different temporalities of human activities.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
