Gioacchino da Fiore: millennio e utopia

The article aims to show the forms in which Joachimism anticipates modern utopia by inheriting the ancient forms of Christian «utopia». In this comparison, modern utopia separates itself from that prophetic spirit that still resided in the Christian cosmos while, at the same time, representing a figure of thought and a form of life of that «penultimate» time in which the «possible» is still conceived of as achievable, in comparison with a pre-ordered and unmodifiable present.

L’articolo intende mostrare le forme con cui il Gioachimismo, ereditando le antiche forme di «utopia» cristiana, anticipa l’utopia moderna. In questo confronto, l’utopia moderna si separa da quello spirito profetico che ancora risiedeva nel cosmo cristiano. Tuttavia, essa si colloca come figura e forma di vita di quel tempo «penultimo» in cui i «possibili» appaiono ancora realizzabili, nel confronto con un presente pre-ordinato e non modificabile.
