The co-operation of the patient during orthodontic treatment is one of the most important factors in obtaining a successful result. The aim of this study was to search for a current available personality test in order to predict the behavior of patients in the orthodontic practice. Specifically, this investigation tested the correlation between the Self perception profile for children" -Sppc-(italian version) test, and orthodontic compliance.This test has been administered to 300 patients, to their parents and to the orthodontist. The results were statistically analyzed (ANOVA). This study shows the the Sppc test, correctly modified, is a valid instrument is assisting the menagement of patient behavior in an orthodontic practice.
