In his essay «Spinoza über Staat und Religion, Judentum und Christentum» published in 1915, Hermann Cohen proposes a severe and polemic analysis of the Tractatus theologico-politicus. According to the neo-Kantian philosopher, Spinoza’s treatise is aimed to operate a sort of «Vernichtung», that is a destruction of Jewish religion and its internal articulation, in particular regarding the concept of Jewish law. This paper tries to consider some elements and reason of Cohen’s interpretation face to face with the Spinozian text, in order to show the true (or supposed) meaning of Spinoza’s destruction of Jewish religion and its implica- tion in his philosophical reflection.

Abstract
In his essay «Spinoza über Staat und Religion, Judentum und Christentum» published in 1915, Hermann Cohen proposes a severe and polemic analysis of the Tractatus theologico-politicus. According to the neo-Kantian philosopher, Spinoza’s treatise is aimed to operate a sort of «Vernichtung», that is a destruction of Jewish religion and its internal articulation, in particular regarding the concept of Jewish law. This paper tries to consider some elements and reason of Cohen’s interpretation face to face with the Spinozian text, in order to show the true (or supposed) meaning of Spinoza’s destruction of Jewish religion and its implica- tion in his philosophical reflection.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
