SHAPE—Skin‐sparing haemorrhoidectomy and pexy: A video vignette

Haemorrhoidal disease (HD) is among the oldest and most prevalentproctological conditions to be documented and investigated [1]. Weare delighted to submit a correspondence outlining a step-by-stepguide to a novel excisional technique for HD, known as SHAPE (skin-sparing haemorrhoidectomy and pexy). This innovative approach,suitable for patients with any grade of HD, offers satisfying cosmeticoutcomes while effectively addressing pain symptoms and avoidingpotential short- to long-term sequelae such as wound dehiscence,keyhole deformities, anal stenosis, fistulization or incontinence,which are associated with conventional excisional procedures thatinvolve the removal of perianal skin
