This paper proposes to explore three new research directions in legal philosophy. The first direction goes beyond words, investigating non-verbal forms of law and normativity through the analysis of drawn norms and deontic artifacts. The second direction pushes beyond norms, examining forms of regulation “without rules” that operate independently of deontic structures, relying instead on the physical or technical configuration of the environment. Finally, the third direction looks beyond humans, exploring the evolutionary roots of normativity and law in the non-human animal world, where primitive forms of normative experience seem to emerge before language.

Abstract
This paper proposes to explore three new research directions in legal philosophy. The first direction goes beyond words, investigating non-verbal forms of law and normativity through the analysis of drawn norms and deontic artifacts. The second direction pushes beyond norms, examining forms of regulation “without rules” that operate independently of deontic structures, relying instead on the physical or technical configuration of the environment. Finally, the third direction looks beyond humans, exploring the evolutionary roots of normativity and law in the non-human animal world, where primitive forms of normative experience seem to emerge before language.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
