The reflection of Italo Valent has always been linked to the philosophical thought of Emanuele Severino. His philosophical analysis should de regarded as an important attempt to deepen some conceptual issues connected with the speculation of his master. In most of his works, Italo Valent tried to underline some possible developments of Severino’s philosophy by analyzing the structural significance of the negative. In fact Valent, by improving the conceptual and practical implications of the negation, was convinced that there was the possibility of building and outlining a wider hermeneutical perspective, no longer founded on the basis of a logical exclusion, but on a principle of hospitality. In order to fulfill his project, Valent started dealing with the modal category of possibility. Hence, he tried to question both the frontal opposition between reality and unreality and the absolute priority of the positivity of the real in spite of the negativity of the unreal. Within this context, Valent outlined an idea of negation conceived as inclusion. In this hospitable philosophy, the possibility is considered definitely broader and more comprehensive of that absolutism of reality investigated so far.

Abstract
In this hospitable philosophy, the possibility is considered definitely broader and more comprehensive of that absolutism of reality investigated so far.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
