The Authors describe the clinical importance of space maintenance in primary and mixed dentition, a particular attention must be paid because of the problems that may often arise during skeletal and occlusal growth. The Authors propose different solutions in the execution of space maintainers suitable for the therapeutic indications of each patient. -- Gli Autori descrivono l’importanza clinica del mantenimento dello spazio in dentatura decidua e in dentatura mista, da considerare con particolare attenzione per le problematiche che spesso possono instaurarsi sia a livello scheletrico che occlusale. Gli Autori propongono diverse soluzioni nella costruzione di mantenitori di spazio adattabili alle esigenze terapeutiche di ciascun paziente.
