The aim of this paper is to reconstruct the concept of the incarnation of the Son which Origen deals with in his Commentary on John. Particularly, the Origenian exegesis of the feet-washing episode of Jn 13,2-11, allegory of the kénosis of Christ, is firstly examined. Then, the interpretations of Jn 13,21 and 12,27 imply the question about the kénosis’ uJpokeivmenon, i.e. the soul of Christ ; finally the Origenian exegesis of Jn 8,42, compared with Mich 1,3, inserts an implicit criticism of the Gnostic doctrines of the tovpo~ and of the two Christs, i.e. the Valentinian idea of the incarnation. The paper also collects and examines the expressions with which, in his Commentary, Origen usually speaks about the incarnation of Christ.

Abstract
The paper also collects and examines the expressions with which, in his Commentary, Origen usually speaks about the incarnation of Christ.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
