This paper aims to show the relations between Franz Rosenzweig andPaul of Tarsus concerning the notion of «Jewish obstinacy». According toRosenzweig, the Jewish obstinacy is not simply an opposition to Christianity, but actually it is its firm and durable guarantee. It is enough to rememberwhat Rosenzweig writes: «The pastor argued conclusively who, asked byFrederick the Great about the proof of Christianity, replied: “Majesty, theJews”» (The Star of Redemption, tr. B. Galli, p. 438). The paper analysesthis notion and its theologico-political implications in the chapter 11 of theEpistle to the Romans and in the Third part of The Star of Redemption.

Abstract
This paper aims to show the relations between Franz Rosenzweig andPaul of Tarsus concerning the notion of «Jewish obstinacy». According toRosenzweig, the Jewish obstinacy is not simply an opposition to Christianity, but actually it is its firm and durable guarantee. It is enough to rememberwhat Rosenzweig writes: «The pastor argued conclusively who, asked byFrederick the Great about the proof of Christianity, replied: “Majesty, theJews”» (The Star of Redemption, tr. B. Galli, p. 438). The paper analysesthis notion and its theologico-political implications in the chapter 11 of theEpistle to the Romans and in the Third part of The Star of Redemption.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
