This paper is aimed to analyze in detail Roberts Desgabets’ interpretation of the Cartesian theory of eternal truths. Desgabets represents an important model to evaluate and study the reception of Descartes’ doctrine. In fact, not only did he accept the theory on eternal truths, but he also considered it as the heart of his own reflection. The analysis of his work, however, proves that Desgabets actually endorses the theory only after depriving it of any radical implications. Hence, Desgabets ends up by defending the same theoretical priorities and the same order of reasons of the critics of the Cartesian doctrine

Abstract
This paper is aimed to analyze in detail Roberts Desgabets’ interpretation of the Cartesian theory of eternal truths. Desgabets represents an important model to evaluate and study the reception of Descartes’ doctrine. In fact, not only did he accept the theory on eternal truths, but he also considered it as the heart of his own reflection. The analysis of his work, however, proves that Desgabets actually endorses the theory only after depriving it of any radical implications. Hence, Desgabets ends up by defending the same theoretical priorities and the same order of reasons of the critics of the Cartesian doctrineI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
